This book is the result of a study on naming of children in Tehran between years 1996 and 2016. Author and researcher, Abbas Abdi, emphasizes the cultural significance of children naming and recognizes naming of children as one of the useful and reliable factors to understand cultural developments in Iranian society, while arguing that after any major cultural transformation in a society, the first area where significant changes occur, is naming of children. According to this research, a cultural transformation is emerging in the Iranian society, which is reflected in naming of children. The study reveals that in the last decade, there have been changes in the naming culture and use and even creation of new Iranian names for children is increasing.
