The growth of scientific knowledge, confirmation of the role and importance of human activities and social behaviors towards changing global climate, have proven to be the key roles of social sciences in understanding and development of appropriate and effective strategies to confront the changing global climate.

The first Persian book in this field, "Society and Climate Change", presents important and sociological aspects of the phenomenon of climate change to its readers. Considering the lack of sociological research on environmental issues in Iran, including climate change, and the importance of the science of environmental sociology, this work seeks to provide an appropriate context for the introduction of social causes of diminution of social debates on climate change in Iran, while informing the planners about the current situation, and recognizing the use of sociological knowledge as a factor for understanding, explaining and solving environmental problems. This work is useful for all those who are more interested in understanding the environment and human relationships and try to keep the scientific community up to date trough enhancing the scientific understanding of humanity among the present generation as well as the future ones.
