Coronavirus pandemic is not only taken as a deadly decease but is also known as a serious global threat to man’s social life. This threat leads to disruption of social systems and affects livelihood and public sphere, education system and the so called human lifestyle. Accordingly, cultural heritage, tourism and cultural industry and traditional handicrafts have also suffered from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. There are many new enquires that have arose concerning the impact of coronavirus on human life. To make response to these questions, experts should gather and provide insight by means of their studies. Having these facts in mind, the RICHT (Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism), the RICAC (Research Institute of Culture, Art and Communication) and the IHCS (Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies) in partnership with the other academic and research centers will hold the “International Conference of the Effects of the  Coronavirus on Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Creative Cultural Industries and Traditional  Handicrafts”. This conference envelopes a series of sessions, panels and roundtables addressing  different dimensions of the coronavirus pandemic, bringing together experts to discuss the social, cultural and economic changes resulting from this global pandemic. It also intends to provide scholarly information to prevent any misinformation and/or disinformation that provoke panic, fears and frustration in human societies and communities.  The outbreak of this deadly pandemic makes scientific approach and circulation of well-experienced and expert knowledge vital among different disciplines. This would be an opportunity for experts to share their expertise via online webinar sessions to exchange their current researches findings and present their achievements on the topic of coronavirus social, economic and cultural impacts. Mentioned Research institutes host series of weekly webinars planned to share the latest scholarly and scientific information through a multi-disciplinary approach which include anthropology, sociology, tourism studies, art studies etc. The Conference Secretariat respectfully invites all researchers, who are interested in this conference and its topics, to send their abstract and/or manuscript of their paper to the address below in the due time:

The Guideline for authors:

Researchers, who like to take part in this conference, will be able to participate virtually in our platform skyroom through virtual sessions. After peer review, accepted papers will be published by the organizer as a collection of articles. The participants should submit their articles through this email address (coronavirusconference@gmail.com), within a scholarly format while considering the following points:  

  • Word Limit for Keywords: Six (6) words;
  •  Word Limit for Abstract: 300 words ;
  •  Word Limit for Full Article: 5000 words;
  • Font:  Times New Roman;
  • Font Size: 12;
  • Reference System: Harvard reference system.

The languages of Conference:

The language of Conference will be Persian, English and Istanbul Turkish in the web sessions.
